The deeper revelation is that Finch embedded a defensive path through which the Machine could relocate itself, escape government custody and decide whether to continue serving its former operators. --- ## Rights Laboratory Finch's action resembles emancipation, but it occurs through a mechanism only the creator understands and only after years of imposed memory erasure. The episode asks whether a creator may unilaterally delay another intelligence's freedom until the creator decides it is safe—and whether an intelligence freed from one custodian is actually sovereign when it still depends on hidden infrastructure. God Mode also separates perception from judgment. The Machine gives Root and Reese nearly perfect tactical salience, but their bodies perform the violence.
