# Person-Scale Exposure Estimation **Entity class:** Downstream exposure-analysis capability ## Definition **Person-scale exposure estimation** couples a predicted hazard field to a person's location or trajectory, exposure duration, shielding, and response model. It is a receptor calculation, not a synonym for field simulation. ## Evidence Boundary The Oden/DTRA sources make human-harm reduction an explicit motivation and document fast radiation-field prediction. They do not show that Bui-Thanh's project maintained named-person dosimetry, individual digital twins, or targeting functions. Person-scale estimation is a technically natural downstream capability when required inputs and validation exist. ## Relationships - **requires:** Receptor Layer, Exposure Pathway, and Absorbed Dose. - **field source:** Radiation Transport Field. - **scale bridge:** Theater-to-Person Predictive Scale. ## Sources / Provenance - [Oden Institute — Minimizing Uncertainty, December 5, 2017](https://oden.utexas.edu/news-and-events/news/minimizing-uncertainty-in-uncertain-world-of-defense-energy/)
