## Definition
A **personal continuity ontology** is a formal representation of the entities, relations, states, transitions, and contexts through which a person remains identifiable across change. It must represent embodiment, temporality, memory, identity claims, discontinuity, recovery, and reconciliation rather than treating continuity as static sameness.
## Architectural role
The concept provides a semantic layer above raw anatomy and signal capture. It asks what relationships must remain intelligible for a record to describe one evolving life rather than a sequence of disconnected states.
