## Definition
A **planetary sensorium** is the heterogeneous world-scale layer through which institutions and computational systems observe environmental, social, economic and technical conditions. It includes satellites, telecommunications metadata, cameras, industrial telemetry, financial records, administrative systems, mobile devices and open-source information.
A sensorium is more than a collection of sensors. Its observations must be timestamped, attributed, resolved and made available to models that can relate events across domains.
