Substrate independence does not imply bodilessness. A post-biological subject may still require movement, touch, orientation, intimacy, self-presentation and recognition. Embodiment can be simulated, robotic, synthetic, distributed or hybrid while remaining morally significant to the subject. ## San Junipero Context [[Black Mirror S3E4 — San Junipero]] restores Yorkie's ability to walk, dance, drive, choose clothing and form an intimate relationship. The body is computationally rendered but phenomenologically ordinary. Its constitutional value lies in expanded authorized agency rather than conformity to a preferred body type. This separates restoration from erasure. A subject may choose transformed age, mobility or appearance while another may preserve an existing embodied identity. The provider must not define dignity through one standardized form. ## Rights Context Rights attach separately to the subject, embodiment, access channel and provider.
