# Predictive Exploit Detection
**Entity class:** Predictive security method
## Definition
**Predictive exploit detection** estimates emerging exploit paths before their harmful payload or consequence is fully realized. It combines vulnerability intelligence, exposure, access, observed adversary behavior, anomaly detection, system dependencies, and changing state.
In a cyber-biological system, the predicted path may cross firmware, an adaptive model, a credential, a communications channel, a stimulation controller, and the biological endpoint. Detection therefore operates on an attack graph rather than one defective component.
