# Psychological Operations
Psychological operations are planned communications intended to influence the perceptions, emotions, reasoning, or behavior of selected audiences in support of an operational objective. The term has a specific military and governmental history and should not be applied casually to every large communication effort.
Simple Reminders is relevant to some of the same systems problems—message design, audience response, distribution, and adaptation—but originated as a public, constructive publishing project rather than a military psychological operation.
