# RF Geolocation **Entity class:** Concept or operational method **Domain:** Commercial War Intelligence ## Definition Measurements of radio emissions are used to estimate a source's geographic position. The method turns signal observations into locations usable for a defined analytic or operational requirement. ## Operational role Commercial imagery, RF observations, maritime tracks, and private investigations supply different kinds of wartime intelligence. A customer’s access, the supplier’s distribution policy, and processing of observations determine the usefulness of the service. The article compares these purchased capabilities with domestic data and location-resolution pipelines. **Architecture connections:** GEOINT · SIGINT · OSINT. ## Relationships - **article-linked institution or supplier:** HawkEye 360. - **article-linked mechanism or framework:** SIGINT. - **article-linked mechanism or framework:** GEOINT. - **collection route:** The Civilian Intelligence Marketplace. - **counterterrorism architecture:** Terrorism, Counterterrorism, and the Intelligence Environment. - **source article:** The Coming Market for Civilian Spycraft. ## Sources / Provenance - [[articles/The Coming Market for Civilian Spycraft#XIII.
