**Domain:** Relationships / Trust / Reconciliation
**Doc Type:** Concept Node
**Maturity:** Developed
## Definition
**Relational Safety is the experienced confidence that honesty, vulnerability, difference, and ordinary imperfection can appear within a relationship without predictable humiliation, coercion, abandonment, or retaliation.**
## Mechanism and Practice
Safety is learned through repeated conduct rather than declared once. Consistency, respectful boundaries, repair, patience, and truthful care allow defensive expectations formed by earlier harm to update gradually.

## Simple Reminders, Quotations, and Thoughts
> “People who were hurt by love often learn to distrust it. Like a stray animal that flinches even at a kind hand, a wounded person may push away the affection they most need. Patience and consistent safety help that trust slowly return.”
