It differs from ordinary telepresence because the remote body is not merely a camera or tool. It may carry appearance, touch, mobility, social identity and relationship. The body becomes an access-controlled site at which a non-local subject is treated as present. ## Layer Separation Remote embodiment separates at least five objects that conventional embodiment joins: 1. the person or acting process; 2. the receiving body; 3. the credential or authorization to enter it; 4. the communications and execution channel; and 5. the institutions maintaining the arrangement. Control of one layer cannot silently confer sovereignty over the others.
