# Resource Addressing Resource addressing gives stable identifiers to data and operational surfaces: documents, Markdown blocks, templates, datasets, variables, tools, account records, and remote resources. Addresses may be paths, names, URIs, or scoped identifiers. XDO's named targets and local/account/system scopes are an address space. AutoSites routes and collection URLs are another. Addressability is what allows content or context to be referenced, retrieved, transformed, and reused without copying it everywhere.
