# Round Rock Compute Data Center
## Definition
Data-center infrastructure houses Horizon's large computational system. The regional facility connects power, cooling, storage, and processing with open scientific computation.
## Regional role
Microelectronics integration supplies compact physical capability, and large computational systems supply the resources for scientific and AI work. TIE’s manufacturing program and TACC’s systems occupy distinct institutional roles. Their proximity lets models, hardware, researchers, and mission recipients exchange useful work through defined projects and interfaces rather than an assumed unified program.
