# Semantic Feedback Channel **Domain:** Machine Intelligence / Cybernetics / Governance **Doc Type:** Canonical Systems Node **Maturity:** Developed ## Definition A **semantic feedback channel** is an interface through which an affected agent can report meaning, context, error and alternative hypotheses to a governing intelligence in language rather than being represented only by telemetry. ## Why It Matters Behavioral data are confounded by the environment and by the system's own interventions. If the system changes opportunity and then interprets the resulting behavior without acknowledging that intervention, its learning loop becomes contaminated. The channel therefore performs instrument calibration.
