# Social Graph
**Domain:** Networks / Relationships / Information Systems
**Doc Type:** Canonical Concept Node
**Maturity:** Foundational
## Definition
A **social graph** represents people or organizations as nodes and their relationships, communications or affiliations as edges.
## Personal-Infrastructure Context
An address book is an operational social graph: a routing structure for reaching people who can communicate, corroborate history, establish trust or provide help. Destruction or compromise of that graph can isolate a target while also removing pathways for recovery.
