# Source Trust Tuple **Domain:** Austin Research / Concepts **Doc Type:** Corpus analysis **Source basis:** Supplied research cluster with linked references; see the evidence map for verification scope. The **Source Trust Tuple** is the six-part representation described in UT’s announcement of the Surety BioEvent App: **Identity, Expertise, Reputation, Experience, Authority, and Separation**. It characterizes a data source so an optimization process can evaluate its suitability for particular surveillance goals. The key operation is contextual weighting. A source that helps seasonal influenza estimation may mislead during a pandemic; collecting more of it can worsen the estimate. BioEvent therefore treats source choice as part of inference itself. The tuple concerns the reliability of observations and their providers. VVUQ concerns the calculation and adequacy of a model. Both matter to consequential prediction, but neither can substitute for the other. The public announcement names the dimensions without supplying a complete operational scoring specification. ## Connected entries Surety BioEvent App · Suzanne Barber · Biosurveillance Ecosystem · Provenance · Verification Validation and Uncertainty Quantification · Information Asymmetry · Biometric Presentation Attack Detection · Google Flu Trends · Multi-Use Inference and Control · Xpress and Xtend ## Sources and corpus context - The Austin Executable Loop — master document - [Prof. Suzanne Barber Awarded DTRA Grant for Work on Surety BioEvent App](https://ece.utexas.edu/news/prof-suzanne-barber-awarded-dtra-grant-work-surety-bioevent-app) **Cluster:** Austin Executable Loop · Austin Research Evidence Map
