# Theater-to-Person Predictive Scale **Entity class:** Multiscale modeling concept ## Definition **Theater-to-person predictive scale** describes the transition from an area-level physical field to estimates at a particular asset, location, route, or human receptor. It requires sufficient spatial and temporal resolution plus a receptor model, trajectory or location, shielding, response characteristics, and validation. The field does not become individualized merely because it is computed quickly. Person-scale use is a downstream coupling problem. ## Relationships - **physical chain:** Source–Transport–Receptor Chain. - **field:** Radiation Transport Field. - **human endpoint:** Person-Scale Exposure Estimation. - **latency reduction:** Reduced-Order Modeling. - **source:** Oden Institute: From Theater-Scale Fields to Person-Scale Receptors. ## Sources / Provenance - [Oden Institute — DTRA radiation-effects project, December 5, 2017](https://oden.utexas.edu/news-and-events/news/minimizing-uncertainty-in-uncertain-world-of-defense-energy/)
