# Total-Field Determinism **Domain:** Philosophy of Physics / Causal Systems / Governance **Doc Type:** Canonical Corpus Concept **Maturity:** Developed ## Definition **Total-field determinism** is the view that events arise from a coupled configuration architecture rather than from isolated local variables acting independently. The term preserves a determinist possibility after Bell-type constraints by allowing that the viable causal architecture may be nonlocal, contextual, branch-structured, retrocausal or measurement-dependent. It does not claim that any one interpretation of quantum mechanics has been established. ## Determinism and Prediction Determination does not imply operational predictability. Chaos, computational irreducibility, quantum measurement constraints, thermodynamic cost and self-reference can prevent an embedded subsystem from cheaply forecasting a lawful future. ## Civilizational Extension Human trajectories also arise from coupled institutional, economic, biological and relational fields.
