## Definition
**Triangular dependency exists when two major actors maintain strong relationships with an intermediary while the direct edge between them remains impaired.** The intermediary gains betweenness, visibility, and bargaining power because flows must pass through institutions capable of translating, certifying, clearing, or adjudicating across the gap.

## Formal Network Structure
