# UT COVID-19 Modeling Consortium **Entity class:** Research consortium The **UT COVID-19 Modeling Consortium** was established by [[wiki/Lauren Ancel Meyers|Lauren Ancel Meyers]] in March 2020 as an interdisciplinary [[wiki/COVID-19|COVID-19]] modeling network at [[wiki/University of Texas at Austin|UT Austin]]. Its work combined epidemic models, real-time surveillance, forecasting, risk mapping, hospital-capacity analysis, testing strategy, vaccination scenarios, staged-alert systems, and decision support. The consortium’s institutional structure is central to its significance. [[wiki/Meyers Lab|Meyers Lab]] supplied network epidemiology and modeling; [[wiki/Texas Advanced Computing Center|TACC]] supplied computation, data services, visualization, and dashboards; [[wiki/Dell Medical School|Dell Medical School]] supplied clinicians, population-health expertise, hospital and treatment parameters, and researchers working with local contact-tracing data; and [[wiki/Austin Public Health|Austin Public Health]] and [[wiki/City of Austin|City of Austin]] supplied the local public-health and decision environment.
