## Definition
**Volara** is open-source infrastructure for applying block-wise operations to arbitrarily large multidimensional microscopy volumes. It supports large-volume array and graph processing, model inference, fragment extraction, affinity agglomeration, relabeling, registration shifts, task resumption, and local or clustered compute contexts.
Within [[wiki/PRISM (E11 Bio)|PRISM]], Volara belongs to the computational substrate that turns registered image and model outputs into tractable large-volume reconstruction workflows. It is a reusable software component, not the protein-barcoding method itself.
